Without further ado, here is a listing of the poetry made by the maddest poets in town...not that we're really all that mad-looking, but the name fit quite nicely.

These poems are of any kind; they may have a set rhythm, they may not; they may rhyme, or may not; they may have meter, or not; they may just be blurbs of paragraphical text, if we so please.

Now Serving Up [31] poets and [366] works

If you'd like to have YOUR poetry showcased here, please message [Elysian], [Blasphemy], [Half-Mad Poet] or [Linderel] and one of them will set you up.

Solemn Lines Weekly Poetry Feature

Heart Encased

He tries to scale a wall of brick
That stands tall in front of him
Looking for a crack or hole
Some way that he can get in

A chink appears before him
Just right for his hand to fit
Loose mortar makes another one
As he moves it around a bit

Scaling slowly upwards now
His confidence does increase
The prize he sees in his minds eye
As he picks up his climbing pace

His hands he places on the top
Pulling up with all his might
On leg he throws up on the wall
The next follows close behind

His happiness is overwhelming
His joy grows by leaps and bounds
He finally looks down at the prize
Only to see a heart incased in ice

2006-06-28 [Akayume]: but of course ^^

2006-06-28 [Linderel]: Heh. I noticed the error (I'm a darned walking talking spellchecker) but I didn't say anything about it for some reason. <_< Oh, and welcome [Akayume] and everyone else that's new. :)

2006-06-28 [Akayume]: thank you ^^

2006-06-28 [DeadSockMonster]: Whee welcome Akayume! (Thanks, blasphemy...) Heh Linderel we must be two of a kind.

2006-06-28 [Linderel]: Whee, a kinsperson! \o/

2006-06-28 [Half-Mad Poet]: Welcome! its good to se another new face.

2006-06-28 [DeadSockMonster]: Or at least, another new username and some poems ^_^ But yes, faces are welcome!

2006-06-28 [Half-Mad Poet]: lol, :)

2006-06-28 [Blasphemy]: yay!

2006-06-28 [DeadSockMonster]: Licorice!

2006-07-03 [Blasphemy]: (to the mods) not to drop the buck here but I am busy as of late, if you can or are not already, please watch all members houses for updates and try to recruit new members

2006-07-03 [Viperess]: [Morningstar Rising] writes a lot of poetry I know

2006-07-03 [Linderel]: I'm beginning the call for poetry communities. Hopefully we get someone to compete against. :P

2006-07-03 [Viperess]: That would be cool.

2006-07-03 [Linderel]: And done. I dropped a note to all the wikis I have listed at the moment. And that's pretty much all I can do for now, since I'm leaving to Scotland on Wednesday.

2006-07-03 [Elysian]: I'll take over if you want. Send me a message as to what ones you invited and I'll see what happens. I'm no longer busy.

2006-07-04 [Blasphemy]: To make it easier solemn lines members if you update your page just tell us what you did here and how many more or less poem there are

2006-07-04 [Viperess]: Okay, I added one to mine.

2006-07-04 [Elysian]: updated.

2006-07-04 [Viperess]: thank you very much

2006-07-04 [Elysian]: it literally is my job :D

2006-07-04 [Linderel]: I'm not sure if the total number of poems is correct... <_< I updated it, but I don't entirely trust my result, there can always be a glitch somewhere, so it would be good if someone else checked it.

2006-07-04 [Viperess]: I just added a new one. Is more a song/poem but thinking of summitting for first round in world cup thing. How do you set up a poll to see what people think of poems?

2006-07-04 [Linderel]: Updated. About the poll, erm... Take look at poll how-to and whatever poll type you choose, put the poem names as options? That's how I would set up a poll if I wanted a pollful of opinions on what to choose to enter in a contest or something.

2006-07-04 [Viperess]: ^_^ Thanks. May wait till eyes uncross, been writing on story for past 3 hours...

2006-07-04 [Linderel]: Hee. Okiesh. I'll have to start preparing to leave soon... A week in Scotland, yay! \o/

2006-07-04 [Viperess]: No fair..have a blast. Have been to England but not Scotland, sounds like fun though

2006-07-04 [Linderel]: I will certainly do my best. :D Hee, I've never been further than Stockholm or Tallinn, so I'm a bit excited - and Scotland has been on the top of my list for years.

2006-07-04 [DeadSockMonster]: Ooh Scotland. Funfun. I've been to England and Ireland, but I don't remember them well.

2006-07-04 [Blasphemy]: i've been to Canada and Mexico

2006-07-05 [Elysian]: I've been to Wisconsin :D

2006-07-05 [Half-Mad Poet]: ... i went through some states, lived in colorado.Returned to the land from which i was born in the harsh tundra of the forsaken north *squinty eyes*...well, ok michigan

2006-07-05 [Elysian]: we come from the land of the ice and snow...

2006-07-05 [Viperess]: Been in every state in US, mexico, canada, belize, england, and germany

2006-07-05 [moonscale]: Hello people-from-all-over-the-world, how exactly does one join?

2006-07-05 [Elysian]: I give you a subwiki! expect a message soon!

2006-07-05 [Elysian]: you'r enow listed.

2006-07-05 [moonscale]: Thank you

2006-07-06 [Half-Mad Poet]: Welcome! good to see another dace on the Wiki :)

2006-07-06 [moonscale]: dace?

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: O.o

2006-07-06 [moonscale]: *is confusled*

2006-07-06 [Elysian]: Look at your keyboard, Ayakume, Moonscale. Notice what's next to the F key. He meant "face"

2006-07-06 [Elysian]: Just a note, by the way, that I need World Cup entries from EVERY poet listed, if possible. So if you're not already working on getting a good poem to us, do it now, just to make sure you're not late!

2006-07-06 [moonscale]: Thats a brilliant idea! why did I never think of that...

2006-07-06 [Elysian]: um, you tell me. :D

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: DO we have to enter? I'm at a...dead spot in me life -.- I can't come up with anything good.

2006-07-06 [moonscale]: I think you can use anything you've written earlier...

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: ok, okay

2006-07-06 [moonscale]: Wow! I really like your dawn poem

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: thanks ^^ It was my first serious poem.

2006-07-06 [moonscale]: I don't try to make mine serious. They are all just spontanious. Though they aren't that good.

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: *laughs* I mean, like, ones that I would enter in something :p

2006-07-06 [Viperess]: Dawn is a great poem.*sighs* now to try to figure out one to write for the contest.....

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: really? thanks ^^

2006-07-06 [Viperess]: ^_^ welcome

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: I wanna enter it ...:p

2006-07-06 [Viperess]: Bet you'll do great too

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: ^^ we are all good..yup yup yup. ^^

2006-07-06 [moonscale]: I have a nice poem somewehere that would be just perfect. Of course I can't find it like the majority of my poetry.

2006-07-06 [Akayume]: awww

2006-07-09 [Blasphemy]: I went ahead and made an executive decision here and deleted Davis and Jess, if either of you read this and still want on leave a comment but if not, which I am expecting, that tidies things up a bit

2006-07-09 [SaNiTY™]: -happy- my poem ish poem of teh week~

2006-07-09 [Viperess]: I added a poem on my page. I believe I may use today for contest. If anyone could please tell me what you think of it ^_^

2006-07-09 [Elysian]: Oy vey. this sleepiness complex is waaaay too annoying for my head. I'll be around, updating as this ice pack on me head melts. Welcome to our newest member, Insanelife.     Also, Happy TRICENTENNIAL, SOLEMN LINES! We reached over 300 poems today!

2006-07-09 [Blasphemy]: Awesome, we also reached over 300 comments!

2006-07-09 [moonscale]: Which one was it , Viperess?

2006-07-09 [Viperess]: Wow 300 poems..to cool. It is 'Today'

2006-07-09 [Elysian]: and comments, even better

2006-07-11 [Sad Lonely Angel]: those are the shit

2006-07-11 [moonscale]: I think its great

2006-07-11 [Viperess]: Thank you.

2006-07-12 [Linderel]: Me ish back. :o How's everyone been?

2006-07-12 [Elysian]: things're going well, Lin. We have a few competitors lining up for the solemn lines chapter of the world poets contest. So far not much word from any other wikis, sadly.

2006-07-12 [Linderel]: I've detected some movement. :)

2006-07-12 [Elysian]: setting phasers to "chicken dance".

2006-07-12 [Elysian]: just a reminder, folks, when you update your wiki, post a comment somewhere for the mods to add it up on the poets page and this main page.

2006-07-12 [moonscale]: ummm... I'm adding a bunch of poetry... but I'm not done yet...

2006-07-12 [Elysian]: ok. I had you clocked at 26 last time, just leave a message when you're done as to the new count.

2006-07-12 [Viperess]: Okay where do we put the poem we want to enter into the contest?

2006-07-12 [Linderel]: Send it to one of the admins.

2006-07-12 [Viperess]: Ahh okay much thanks

2006-07-22 [Elysian]: Hope you all have an idea of what poem you want to enter. Deadline in 3 days.

2006-07-22 [moonscale]: Ahh! I don't know!

2006-07-22 [Elysian]: you don't have to participate...but this contest isn't looking very promising.

2006-07-22 [moonscale]: I will! I will! I just have to find a poem I like.

2006-07-22 [moonscale]: where do we put it? sorry but I'm sort of lost at the moment.

2006-07-22 [Elysian]: QUOTE: 2006-07-12 Linderel: Send it to one of the admins.

2006-07-23 [moonscale]: WHich would be? sorry but that doesn't really say anything to me. I did read the comment but I'm very stupid. Whats an Admin?

2006-07-23 [Elysian]: ...um...

2006-07-23 [Elysian]: If you'd like to have YOUR poetry showcased here, please message [Elysian], [Blasphemy], [Half-Mad Poet] or [Linderel] and one of them will set you up.

2006-07-24 [Junko987]: check out my poems

2006-07-30 [Elysian]: it seems that all activity on Solemn Lines has gone the way of the Dodo while I sort through the poems for the world poets contest...

2006-07-30 [Dil*]: you mean you haven't gotten many entries?

2006-07-31 [Elysian]: no, it means I got entries but activity on solemn lines seems to have died

2006-07-31 [moonscale]: How about a new contest then?

2006-07-31 [Elysian]: can we wait until the old one is judged at least?

2006-08-01 [moonscale]: ...he...sorry. I am still thinking what else could liven thigs up a bit.

2006-08-05 [Elysian]: Judgment of the World Poets contest has been postponed until Half Mad Poet returns from Chicago. Sorry for any inconvenience.

2006-08-07 [Half-Mad Poet]: Back, as it would seem. Sorry for the length of my absence.

2006-08-07 [moonscale]: Wow, I really like "Nobility." Its really good. Who's Julie?
And should there still be Things unknown up there?

2006-08-07 [Cliché]: That's me! Yay! I was featured!

2006-08-07 [Elysian]: Thank you Linderel for fixing up my 2 AM mistakes :D

2006-08-09 [Dil*]: yay for [Cliché]!

2006-08-12 [Half-Mad Poet]: so, when are we going to judge? i'm back, as it would seem.

2006-08-12 [Elysian]: NEVER!!! I kid I kid. Umm....next week it looks like. I had to fix some minor problems on the poems as far as spelling

2006-08-17 [Viperess]: I added a couple poems ^_^

2006-08-21 [Elysian]: Judges of the contest: Do you think we should nullify Blasphemy's vote, in order to show the winner that they have indeed won? He hasn't gotten back to me in two weeks.

2006-08-21 [Half-Mad Poet]: let me see if i can talk to nathan baout it, if not it seems we dont really have a choice.

2006-08-21 [Blasphemy]: I forgots, I am only one enough to check messages and changes, yeah go ahead and take off mine

2006-09-01 [.Toxic Valentine.]: may i get mine set up please? ok they arent that good and they are a bit short.. but my friends are telling me to at least ask..

2006-09-01 [Blasphemy]: Thank you for taking interest in solemn lines feel free to add whatever you like to ace poetry

2006-09-08 [Elysian]: So, if anyone still watches this page, what should the next contest's rules look like?

2006-09-08 [Half-Mad Poet]: Congratz Fizban on your Win!!!!
any who, lets think.

Lets do a personaly momnets poetry contest. you write about something that happened to you, or something of the like.
any style, any lenghth, within reason, etc.

2006-09-08 [Elysian]: Personal moments, eh?

Hmmmm...maybe we should tighten the focus a bit? Certain kinds of moments, i.e. family related, friend related, relationship? Or perhaps a sort of general enlightenment we have found through experience?

2006-09-09 [Half-Mad Poet]: hm, well, it would have to be something that would be available to every one, so i suppose family moments would work for most... unless i suppose a person where to have no family.

2006-09-10 [Elysian]: The contest has been made. It's listed up there in the Contests area, next to "You've Gained Enough XP...".

The title?!

LEVELZ UPXORS!

compete now or be squidwhipped.

2006-09-15 [DeadSockMonster]: Squidwhipped? I can't seem to find that in the dictionary...does that mean, formal bruising and/or bleeding of, by thou prithee whip made of squid tentacles...?

2006-09-15 [Half-Mad Poet]: well, if not the technical, that is how we use it

2006-09-15 [Elysian]: FACIAL :D

2006-09-15 [Elysian]: And speaking of facials, someone send me some poetry for the contest.

No, it had nothing to do with facials.

Yeah.

2006-09-17 [DeadSockMonster]: Lol ^_^ Okies I shall check out the contest. Ooh, squid tentacles coming through a computer screen ^_^ Sounds like a great B horror movie.

2006-09-21 [Elysian]: or a bad anime.

2006-09-21 [Cliché]: Or just bad porn.

2006-09-21 [Elysian]: that's what I was getting at...

2006-09-22 [Cliché]: Yeah, but I felt the need to overtly say it.

2006-10-01 [Half-Mad Poet]: lol, well... i won!!!!! hellz yeah, its sweet wining unopposed.

2006-10-15 [Elysian]: Looks like Solemn Lines is getting the death stamp...

2006-10-15 [DeadSockMonster]: *dramatic music* Ooh! Does that mean Stampeth of Death? ...waah. I wonder if we need to find more poets.

2006-10-15 [Blasphemy]: now now, Solemn lines is still very alive and kicking lol, just there is not someone to reall take charge, we just need to have a dormant time for a while untill the fad kicks back in

2006-10-15 [DeadSockMonster]: Hmm. Reminds me a bit of our little cupcake club. But we have two or three fearless leaders, and not enough participants - here, there aren't enough leaders, but plenty of participants. At least, I think.

2006-10-15 [Blasphemy]: yeah you are probably right, see the basis of solemn lines is the people have their own little nitch, it is not a freely editable wiki as you know, not just anyone can change it around, you have to go through an admimistrator, and then they give you, your own little thing to mess around with, the only problem with this system is all of us adimistrators are now freshmen in college with the exception of Linderel who pretty much stopped talking to me for one reason or another...so! we are all too busy to recruit people or make more contest or fundemental changes

2006-10-15 [DeadSockMonster]: *lets all that sink in* Wow. I feel weird, just a homeschooled highschool freshman...

2006-10-15 [Blasphemy]: we wanted to encoporate the structure and security of only one or few people having control, like an oligarchy, but we realized that without the involvement of the mass, we could not get people to even join because if they had to count on us few for everything, who would go through all that red tape? So we also have the individual wiki style with ever so barely a connection to solemn lines so that people don't...realize..I guess you could say that only us four run this place

2006-10-15 [DeadSockMonster]: Hm. Yes...that's all I can say...oh well >_< So what precisely do we need? More members, or more good ol'-fashioned activity? ...or both?

2006-10-15 [Blasphemy]: I would say both, we need to go out there, find the people writing poems, and get them to come here, with more poems we have more options for future contest and such

2006-10-16 [Elysian]: perhaps we should have some elections to get some more officers? I am surprised however that so many are paying attention now.

2006-10-16 [Blasphemy]: well, that is risky business, the reason I thought we should add linderel was because she was showing beyond te call of duty activity for the wiki, I think rather then just pick someone, we just let see what happens and happens and the most active current participate be the one to become on the administrators list

2006-10-16 [Elysian]: why in the hell am I not talking to you on MSN and using this instead? xD

2006-10-16 [Half-Mad Poet]: well, though i am off to bed soon, i should talk as well. i think we need to approach the activity matter realitivly delicatly. i mean, many people as writers and poets do not have a high out put of material. with the worries of life, many may write something a few times a month if even. we cannot expect a workmill. now, on the other side of things, i do not think that this is what we are asking for. we just need some sort of participation. we've had a few contests, but participation seems limited. so we have to balance not wanting to be too "pushy" with needing and promoting more activity. how many of our members have even been to this page in the last few mounths? i havent the foggiest. maybe put in a few opinion polls (if you can do that with wikki's not an expert) perhaps a note to each of our members reminding them wedo indeed still exist. granted, i always had a hard time finding out who was who as we have to make a seperate username for everyone.

any who, i feel i am just babbaling, and realize i do need sleep. so, share your thoughts, tell me if anything i said made the slightes of sense, or if its more or less useless info. hopefully we can work this out, and not just be another fallen poetry wikki.

P.N.
The Half-Mad Poet

2006-10-16 [Linderel]: *hangs head in shame* I seem to have difficulty in getting stuff done, and I apologise for that. I promised myself that I wouldn't let this wiki die if I had any say in the matter when I became one of the admins, but obviously, I couldn't keep that promise. If you still accept me, I'll try to be more active.
Oh, and [Blasphemy], I'll need to apologise to you as well. I'm a lousy friend. :P

2006-10-16 [Half-Mad Poet]: no worries, we havent died yet, nor do i have have any intention of doing so (on a personal level or a wiki level). You are just as accepted as the rest of us, and dont put to much blaim on yourself. We have all, in our own way, failed. But with that comes the ability to move on. We just need to do some serious remodeling/brainstorming. some foucuses migth include

a) Advertising. maybe produce a banner that grasps attention without being presumptoius. to go beyond the reach of this sight, maybe create a (dare i say it) myspace page for it as to attract more followers, as it is by far a more mainstream in the open sight. or live journal, or zomba, whatever the hell kids now aday are into.

b) Activity. Maybe a weekly workshop, spaced out contests, weekly/mounthly news letters. things that promote activity but not necissarily overdoing it.

c)Growth. This goes along with the advertisment, but a steady inflow of dedicated members. though, we cant expect them to come dedicated, we must make them so

d) Where do we go from here? As we know, there is only so much we can do on an elftown/wikki format. we may, in the future, need more then a corum/wiki style website. granted, i am not exactly keen on knowing web design or the like.

now, some of these ideas may be over doing it, but its a start i suppose. as the least active of all admis, heres hopefully to turning a new leaf.

P.N.
Half-Mad Poet

2006-10-16 [Elysian]: Indeed. Here's to Less Procrastination from me as well.

And, in other news:

I will be working in the next few months on webpage designing for an actual area. If someone knows a good host that hosts HTML, then please drop me a message.

Also, P.N. HMP brings up a good point with workshops. I believe he is most experienced in their execution, so I believe he should be in charge of those (for a little while at least). They will still be open to suggestion, but I think he has the most knowledge of workshops.

Third, no apology was required, Lin. We've all let the ball drop, and as such we all need to get it rolling again.

This myspace idea is a good one. Would someone like to take charge of that as well?

I will be working on getting each poet a page for working on, but of course it will be difficult to put it onto a regular webpage, since that will make another red-tape kind of thing where poets need to submit poetry to an admin to be programmed into the site. I do believe my ill-fated InVision forum would be good for the admins to keep tabs on new works, maybe workshops could take place there, etc.? Ideas now, brainstorming is nigh.

Finally, tonight I will send out a message thru ET to each member showing we are indeed alive.

Thanks for the input so far, everyone.

2006-10-16 [DeadSockMonster]: *ready ready read* Sounds good ^_^ Elysian, if you're talking about free hosts, do you mean places like Freewebs.com and such?

2006-10-16 [Linderel]: MySpace, ew. *wrinkles nose* I severely dislike that place. Out of the options [Half-Mad Poet] presented, I like LiveJournal the most. But if everyone else thinks MySpace does the trick, I'll concede.

2006-10-16 [moonscale]: I have a few suggestions as well.
-we should have a buddy review system, so we can get comments and honest critique from other members. this will also help move stuff around, becasue currently its like a dead warehouse.

-we should also try adding tutorial type things for poetry. just helpful hints and such
(ex. my meter sucks)

2006-10-16 [Linderel]: Hum. How'd we go about implementing this buddy review system?

2006-10-16 [Elysian]: yes, elfgirl, a host like geocities or freewebs that will host HTML. my experience has been non-HTML hosts. If need be, we can use Geocities or something of that sort.

Lin, as far as personal opinions about Myspace go, I'm not terribly fond of it either; however, we cannot deny its power as a tool to reach many people at once. I'm also not sure how LiveJournal works as an outreach program, being a diary site. Other ideas are Xanga, Facebook, Hi5, Elfwood, etc..

Moonscale: agreed. how would we include this? Also, a workshop is a tutorial for writing, essentially. It's a form of harnessing ideas and working on technical stuff at the same time.

2006-10-16 [Linderel]: Solemn lines brainstorming <- for gathering all these ideas.

2006-10-16 [Elysian]: I'm intrigued :). But now for some more whoring: move up to where it says "solemn lines forum site" and join; hopefully this will help with involvement without slamming ET with traffic (as it likes to die a lot)

2006-10-16 [Linderel]: Not that it helps with the kickstart any, I made a new banner for us. Again. Sorry for not being very forthcoming with ideas, but my brain is apparently on a strike. I'll do my best to look into the mentioned issues, though.

2006-10-16 [Linderel]: I set up a poetry contest, open to everyone. It might help getting some publicity for us. Could you take a look at it and tell me what you think? I'd be willing to manage the contest by myself up until judging, if required. -> Strangers. (And if you don't like the idea, I'll run it anyway, independently. :P)
Oh, and the new banner, if you want to take a look at it as well: <URL:stuff/solemnlinesbanner03.jpg>

2006-10-17 [Half-Mad Poet]: ok, i can start up a workshop, but it probably wont be untill thursday when i can get time to set everything up, and probably not untill the next tuesday before i can get everything started. along with the myspace. as i agree with lin about a general dislike of myspace (though i will admit to having one *sigh*) it is by far the most out in the open of all of them. i suppose i'll be the starter and runner for it.

p.s. like the new banner!

2006-10-17 [Half-Mad Poet]: i do agree with the use of the forum, and indeed plan on using that for the center stage of my workshoping, the format allows for a more easily acssesable and workable... er, workshop as it were. i will have a page on the actual elftown wiki about the workshop, a description, what a workshop is or isnt, etc. while i have been involved in a decent amount of workshoping, online doing so is rather new, so bare with me :)

2006-10-17 [Elysian]: PATRIC, (off topic post) I'm on KILROGG!!!!

Horde, but alliance if I must.

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: Any opinions on the poetry contest?

2006-10-17 [Half-Mad Poet]: it seems to be a great contest, though honestly i pen it more for a a short fiction then poetry. still, i think you'll get some good responses. i know i'll be posting, as soon as i make something.

Kyle, thats awsome! we all have alliance, though i'm thinking of making a horde when the expansion comes out.

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: I'll open it soonish, then. Though if you're going to participate, you can't judge. :3

2006-10-17 [Half-Mad Poet]: very true.

well then, i'll help judge opposed to write something for it, though i may write something for it any who. not certian.

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: You could write an example. ^_^

2006-10-17 [Half-Mad Poet]: :) thanks! i might do so, time premiting. but for now, off to math test! oi. have a good day

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: Good luck!

2006-10-17 [Blasphemy]: holy molies while I was gone a lot went down, what did I spark? lol

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: A collective brainstorm? :P

2006-10-17 [Elysian]: better idea: Poll voting.

Instead of one judge or group of judges, we post the poems (since they'll be sent to us anyway) on the page and the populous of Solemn Lines can vote (a la keyword photography).

yay or nay?

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: Err, no, the entrants will post them on the page themselves. :P I personally like that approach better.
But the poll thing works. I'll make it an entirely public poll, though. No restrictions on who can vote. :)

2006-10-17 [Elysian]: obviously. It doesn't make sense to make the polls private, especially if we want growth.

And as for posting to contest pages themselves, the only reason we made SL privately editable was so some idiot couldn't come in here and wipe out all we worked on. Contest pages are fine, since we'll just close them when we're done with them anyway.

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: "the populous of Solemn Lines can vote" <- That seemed like restriction to me. :) But nevermind, maybe I somehow misunderstood.

What are you saying, exactly? I didn't really get that. Anyway, I think the entrants should post their submissions on their own. A lot simpler that way.

2006-10-17 [Elysian]: ummm...we made Solemn Lines editable by password only at first because we didn't want some idiot to come and wipe out all that had been posted, just as I said. I went on to say that it makes sense to make the pages freely editable because we're going to close them afterwards (so no changes). And as far as the solemn lines populous went, I figured it made sense that the general ET user probably isn't going to wander in here, vote and be on their merry way. I don't know how to restrict polls anway (if there is a way at all).

2006-10-17 [Linderel]: Pages can always be restored, though. But yes, that makes sense. As for the rest... Goodie. ^_^
You can restrict polls by making them votable by forum members only. :P But we don't have an ET forum, so in this case, it's irrelevant. However, as I'm going to put this on Writing Contests and otherwise advertise, apart from it being here, there will hopefully be non-Solemn Lines people voting (and participating, which is the whole point). :)

2006-11-04 [Elysian]: Alright kiddies, I've gone through everyone's pages and updated the poem counts; I've been working sporadically on a geocities page for this monster; and now it's up to YOU to get inviting! Contest # 4 isn't one of poetry: it's one of WIKI WHORING!

2006-11-04 [Elysian]: Here's the URL for the Geocities page: give it to all your poetry loving, non-Elftown friends!!

Note: The page has links to Solemn Lines @ wiki (this page) and all related pages. I'm in the process of exporting each page now so they'll be viewable by non members of elftown.

2006-11-05 [Elysian]: Now everything should work. Please remember to keep getting people involved.

2006-11-05 [Elysian]: Did everyone die again?

2006-11-05 [Linderel]: I'm not dead, but pretty busy this month with Nanowrimo.

2006-11-06 [Half-Mad Poet]: i'll be getting to stuff, just trying to pull two research papers and a teaching presentation outta my ass. a wee bit busy, but i will eventually get around to things

2006-11-06 [Elysian]: Oh man...I'm glad my midterms happened last week instead of this week, otherwise I might've smoted solemn lines out of spite.

2006-11-06 [Blasphemy]: well I have it backed up from about...July...so it would not be tottaly gone lol

2006-11-06 [Elysian]: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my evil PLANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnn

2006-11-13 [Half-Mad Poet]: heya, i should be able to start doing things after this week. papers to write and the like.

2006-11-13 [Elysian]: I saw that on the diary...I should start updating too, once these papers resolve themselves as well. :D

2006-11-16 [Elysian]: I'm assuming Archange Luttant isn't joining...
